New App for GR series: “GR WORLD”

NEW APP "GR WORLD" NOW AVAILABLE

With the announcement of the development of the new GR IV, a new app was also announced. ‘GR WORLD’ is an app designed specifically for cameras in the current RICOH GR series*. With this app, you can take remote shots, play back images, copy images to your smartphone, and upload images from your smartphone to social media.
* Limited functions with GR II Main features

1. Camera connection
Once the camera is registered in the app, it will appear on the screen for selection, allowing you to connect quickly and easily.
On the start screen, you can check the following information about the camera:
• Bluetooth® connection status*
• Location information recording*
• Battery level • Recording medium and remaining shots
* Not compatible with GR II

You can assign names to registered cameras in the camera settings.
* The camera name can be up to 32 single-byte characters long and can contain alphanumeric characters and symbols.

2. Image import function
With the camera's Wi-Fi function, you can display images stored in the camera's internal memory or on a memory card on the app screen and import them to your smartphone.
Images that have already been imported are indicated by a smartphone icon above the check box.
* Images for which a transfer reservation has been made on the camera can also be imported using the app. (Not compatible with GR II)

You can also filter and display the images in the camera according to the following information.
• File format (JPEG, RAW, movie)
• Transfer status (Not transferred, Transferred)
• Shooting date
For example, if you filter by the transfer status ‘Not transferred’, only images that have not yet been transferred to the smartphone will be displayed.

You can view the images transferred to your smartphone on the gallery screen. On the gallery screen, you can add images to your favourites, share them with other apps or add them to albums.

3. Remote shutter release function*
When the app is connected to the camera via Bluetooth, you can release the camera shutter or activate the self-timer.
*Only single-frame shooting is available for this function. When you tap the shutter button in the app, the camera's shooting mode automatically switches to single-frame shooting.
*Not compatible with GR II

4. Function to transmit location information to the camera*
If ‘Save location information’ is enabled in the camera settings, the location information of the smartphone is transferred to the camera and stored in the captured images as long as the app is connected to the camera via Bluetooth.
*Not compatible with GR II

5. Album and widget functions
The images imported from the camera to your smartphone can be organised into albums or displayed as a widget on the smartphone's home screen, allowing you to view them as if you were using a digital photo frame.
