RICOH GR IV HDF – Your ultimate Snapshooter

Collecting your memories

The RICOH GR IV HDF is the latest model in the GR series, which has established itself as the perfect snapshot camera over the last 30 years. Its compact size and light
weight
make it the ideal companion for all your everyday adventures.

Thanks to the complete overhaul of all main components, the image quality has been further improved compared to the previous model, while the body dimensions have been reduced. At the same time, the speed has been significantly improved so that you never miss a shot – making this camera the ultimate, always-ready snapshot camera.

The ideal snapshot camera captures your precious memories forever

Compact, user-friendly, and with an unobtrusive design for spontaneous photo shoots—the ultimate snapshot camera.

The new GR IV is even slimmer and more compact than its predecessors. The grip and thumb rest on the back have been optimized so that the camera fits naturally in your hand and can be held securely. The layout of the buttons and control dials has also been improved, and ADJ mode is now available on the control dial, offering improved mobility suitable for a snapshot camera.

Speed and precision are also essential for a snapshot camera. With a start-up time of 0.6 seconds, the GR IV is unbeatably fast. AF speed and precision have been
optimized thanks to a faster lens drive with the new lens barrel, faster image
data readout, and the AF algorithm. At the same time, AF performance in low
light conditions has been improved.

For reliable focusing, the GR IV recognizes faces or eyes. And when you need to act fast, use the unique “Full Press Snap” function, which can now also be selected
directly via the mode dial. Pressing the shutter button fully sets the focus to
a predefined focus area and eliminates the focus delay when pressing the
shutter button halfway, which improves responsiveness in dark areas, for
example, so you no longer miss photos when shooting at night or in dark places.

For quick exposure control, the GR IV now features a hyper function in program mode. By turning the front or rear dial, the camera instantly switches to “aperture
priority” or “shutter priority” mode.

Intuitive controls - touchscreen monitor

Simply touch the LCD monitor to move the AF
frame and navigate through the menus. You can also change the zoom factor by
pinching or spreading your fingers on the monitor during playback, swipe to
browse images, and double-tap during shooting to move the AF frame to the
centre of the image.

Intuitive exposure control – EV compensation button

The exposure compensation can be operated quickly and intuitively with your thumb using the EV compensation button while holding the camera during shooting.

Impressive close-ups in macro mode

The focus range is between 6 and 15 cm in front of the lens front.

Beautiful images with multi-exposure

This function lets you take pictures and overlay them directly. The previous shots appear in a transparent display so you can check the composition while overlaying another image. You can change the exposure parameter and take the next shot, or simply stop.

Outstanding robustness and durability

The magnesium alloy body is lightweight yet sturdy, giving the GR IV outstanding durability.

Dust protection

The UV/IR protection filter in front of the image sensor has a new dirt- and static-repellent coating which, in addition to its cleaning function, uses ultrasonic vibrations to prevent dust and dirt from causing spots on the images.

Lower environmental impact.

Sustainability is an important issue for us. That is why we use environmentally friendly packaging materials.

53 GB internal memory

The GR IV has an internal memory of 53 GB. This provides sufficient space for approx. 3,498 JPEG images, for example.

Depict an even more vivid world – unique recipes for image control

The GR IV is equipped with 14 image finish recipes for image control to help you creatively realise your image ideas. New additions include the film looks [Cinema (Yellow)] and [Cinema (Green)].
Another new feature is the option to influence grain. With all presets, it is possible to change the image control and even create and save your own recipes.

Accessories making the GR System

Many of the current accessory products fit the GR III and GR IV. However, new products have also been developed, such as the new GF-2 flash as optional accessory

The newly developed GF-2 flash is compact and small. It is automatically controlled by the GR IV and offers greater expressive possibilities not only for dark subjects but also for backlit scenes.

New image angles

The crop setting provides image angles equivalent to 35 mm and 50 mm focal lengths.

In addition, a focal length of 21 mm (35 mm equivalent) can be achieved with the optional GW-4 wide-angle conversion lens.

This requires the optional GA-3 adapter, which also allows the use of 49 mm filters.
